Digital nose — air quality & odor

A battery-optimized sensor node capturing air-quality and odor signatures over SPI/I²C and publishing to AWS IoT. FreeRTOS coordinated sensing, health, and Wi-Fi — waking the radio only to publish — with OTA updates handled in the bootloader.

Battery life was the constraint that shaped everything downstream — the sensing and radio tasks stayed on separate duty cycles under FreeRTOS so the Wi-Fi radio only woke to publish a batch, instead of holding a connection open between readings.
